slide.com_team presentation

Slide.com

Evaluating Slide.com.
This site gives you options on how to design your slide show presentation. You can choose from preset designs, styles, skins, themes, music/videos, backgrounds, effects, size, and privacy settings.
For this slide I uploaded photos from Flickr (that was the fastest way to add/upload photos), chose the pre-set "Drive In", the style is 8mm, the skin is paparazi, with music, but no changes to theme, background, effects, size, and privacy (although I tried them all).
The software is only user friendly if you upload from a "photobucket". there were lots of useful features, and there were ways to search for features that can be found on line. It is good fro teachers to use to showcase stdents work. We are giving this site a "4" due to the difficulty in uploadng presonal photos.

*Connie's gonna upload the group slide onto my blog!*

1. was the software user friendly? only if you upload photos from an on-line photo software program.
2. Did the software hav extra useful features to enhance your presentation? Yes, alot of features, that ban be overlaped, or used simultaniously.
3. Is the software especially useful for teachers? Yes, to showcase students work!
4. Would you recommend this software to other educators? Yes, I would, with instructions about the photo uplaod.
5. If you had a choice to use this software again for a presentation, would you use it? Yes, but not if photos are loaded from a camera.
6. What overall consensus rating would you give for this software? We gave it a "4", for the reason that we could not get photos off the camera.

Zunal.com

Zunal.com

1. The assignment on Zunal.com was to work in teams, Rosa and Claudia, to create a webquest. We chose a subject, grade level, and topic. We had to go through the steps to create a webquest, make the topic inviting, post photos, add web links, activity sheets, and a rubric for evaluation.

Visit: http://www.zunal.com/webquest.php?w=52761

2. I liked the webques project, alot! I think it is smething i would like to use in the classroom to be sure the students only visit valid sites for the lesson.
3. The challenge was not really with web quest, but trying to work as a team on one computer, because it was not a collaborative tool. We wanted to create task lists, webs, and rubrics, on one computer, while the other was designing the webquest, but all we could do was use the second computer to look up relevant sites, then add them by links to the quest.
4. I think it was fine, just that we needed more time to complete the whole process.
5. I think my students would enjoy the quest, because we are allowing them to use the computers, and explore links. (even if they don't realize that we are restricting them to certain sites)
